In May, CLIMB will continue its outreach efforts by hosting the 9th Biophotonics Summer School at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. The program will run from May 26th through June 5th, 2026, and will provide an intensive introduction to the principles of biophotonics, investigative technologies, and current research in label-free imaging.

The Summer School will feature lectures and discussions covering quantitative phase imaging, chemical imaging and spectroscopy, optical coherence tomography, nonlinear optical imaging, clinical and in vivo imaging, and computational imaging. The program is designed for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and research scientists who are interested in learning more about emerging optical imaging technologies and their applications in biological and biomedical research.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with CLIMB faculty at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, connect with leading researchers in the field, and gain insight into current developments in biophotonics and label-free imaging.

If you’re interested in attending, please fill out this application. Applications are due March 15, 2026.
